We participate in negotiations

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a European effort to create a modern infrastructure to facilitate the sharing, management and access to research data across different fields of science. The EOSC initiative consists of individual national initiatives. In the Czech Republic, the national EOSC-CZ portal (www.eosc.cz) has recently been launched to provide a framework for this effort in our country. In the Czech Republic, the National Data Infrastructure (NDI), which is part of EOSC, has been launched. The aim is to promote modern practices in research data management and to create a common platform for sharing data and computing resources to facilitate scientific collaboration and multidisciplinary research. A key concept is to ensure "FAIR data", this means that data are easy to find, accessible, well described and that there are clear rules for their use. All this results in increased research efficiency, innovation and transparency in the scientific process, which benefits both the scientific community and society as a whole. CENAKVA participates in the Czech EOSC-CZ at the republic level. It also participates in meetings within the framework of the core (cross-cutting) working groups or thematic (discipline) working groups, especially the environmental sciences working group. The USB is involved in this project and the creation of an institutional repository meeting the requirements for participation in EOSC and using it to make metadata available, to make information about scientific results visible together with sharing of open data. This effort at USB is fully in line with the objectives of the large CENAKVA research infrastructure and is fully supported.

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Portal (https://eosc-portal.eu) offers an easy platform that simplifies access to a wide range of digital resources and services for Open Science. Through a clear web-based environment, FAIR data can be easily searched and filtered across the different national and disciplinary repositories included in the EOSC structure. This tool can help researchers for connecting to relevant research groups and projects, to create searches, review studies or to enrich their own datasets.
